Thank you to the support of our members, and amazing donors.
It is time to renew your annual membership. Your investment fosters the works of CRAF and allows us to help protect the irreplaceable art of the ancients. It also permits CRAF to join with others in promoting rock art research to enrich our understanding of the drawings and paintings found throughout the Californias. CRAF is a statewide, privately developed, voluntarily run, non-profit organization (501[c][3]). We thank our members for their generous support.
We are planning a new trip to Baja in 2025, please check back for details!
CRAF's second monograph, "Points of View: Revisiting the Coso Range Projectile Point Petroglyphs - Chronology, Gender, and Metaphor" is now available in the CRAF Online Store. In this informative and engrossing monograph, authors Alan P. Garfinkel, Bernard M. Jones, and Ryan Gerstner share their research on Coso Projectile Point Petroglyphs. It is beautifully illustrated with drawings and exceptional color photos.
In other related news, the Northern Data Meeting of the Society for California Archaeology (SCA) will be October 19, 2024 in Rohnert Park, CA. The SCA Data Meetings provide a platform for the sharing of data from active research in California and the regions that pertain to it, as well as the opportunity to discuss challenges to the practice of the discipline. The SCA is the largest state archaeology society in the USA. You can register to attend on the SCA website.
We look forward to seeing you at one or all of these events in 2024.
